Voting in 1918, to the legal age being lowered

Voting rights weren’t always there for everyone. Many legal requirements
in UK voting have been amended over the years, from women being granted the
vote in 1918, to the legal age being lowered from 21 to 18 in 1969. Prior
to women’s suffrage land owners where only able to vote as well as those of
higher class. In 1872 the secret ballot was introduced into society to prevent
manipulation.
